What is CAT about #Data is prone to problems. It has issues. Even if it doesn’t, it is easy to screw it up. Data is often “travelling” through the company systems - e.g., records are created in a CRM system, loaded into DWH and from DWH to Power BI workspace for reporting. Data teams release new versions of these solutions. There is a big potential for things to go wrong.

We explained what we mean by Data Source, Test and Output. But how does it all work? How are tests evaluated and outputs created?
There are two more things you need to know about: project files and CAT tools.
Project file #CAT needs to know where is the data you want to test, what tests you want to run and what is your desired output. A project file in CAT is a very simple file that stores that information.

All four tools work with the same project files and run your tests the same way. They differ only in how you talk to them. Typically you pick one and stay with it.
CAT Studio #CAT Studio is a graphical user interface (GUI) for CAT. It allows you to work with CAT with no knowledge of command-line tools.
Main advantage is it does not require any technical skills. Therefore it is suitable for non-IT people - it is an enabler for business users and junior developers/testers to author, run and evaluate automated tests against data.
