Testing data in Power BI workspaces #CAT has supported testing Power BI data for many versions now. You could test both:
data in Power BI Desktop, before you deploy changes
and data in Power BI semantic models already deployed to Power BI workspaces.
Previously, setting this up required technical knowledge—you had to provide connection strings and configure providers. What’s new in this version is just how easy it is. To create a new data source in CAT Studio, you only need to provide the name of your workspace and the name of your model:

CAT Studio Enhancements #You guys did a great job providing us feedback. Thank you! We are happy to announce lots of small improvements in CAT Studio.
Duplicate a Test #Duplicating an existing test was by far the most required enhancement. Now it is easy, both from the context menu and using a keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+D. Instead of copying tens of values to a new test, do it with one click.

Testing MS Excel Files #You can automate tests against MS Excel data and their structure, since the very beginning of CAT. What is new in this version then?
Our users reported issues when loading MS Excel data for testing, such as problems with empty sheets and data types guessing. Starting with this version, CAT has its own engine for loading MS Excel data to memory for testing. What does it mean for you?

Testing MS Excel data #We support testing MS Excel data using our Excel@2 provider. You reported problems when querying empty MS Excel sheets - the headers were incorrectly interpreted as data. We use DuckDB under the hood and a few days ago they released a brand new MS Excel extension that finally fixes that issue.
Documentation updates #You provided tremendous amount of feedback on our documentation - thanks a lot for that!
