Refund Policy
CAT SOFTWARE REFUND POLICY
(Paid Online Subscriptions Purchased through Paddle)

1. Scope and general rule
This Refund Policy applies to paid online CAT Software subscriptions purchased through Paddle. Paddle acts as the authorised reseller and merchant of record and is responsible for processing payments, cancellations, statutory withdrawal requests and refunds. This Policy states the product-specific criteria that Data Tools s.r.o. (“DT”) will use when reviewing or supporting a refund request. It is subject to the CAT Software Licence Terms, the Paddle Buyer Terms, the Paddle Refund Policy and mandatory law.
Except where mandatory law or Paddle’s policies require otherwise, all subscription payments are non-refundable. Cancelling a subscription prevents future renewal but does not ordinarily refund the current billing period or any unused part of it.
2. Limited voluntary refund for technical non-functionality
Outside mandatory consumer rights, DT will consider supporting a discretionary refund only where all of the following conditions are met:
• the CAT Software has a material and persistent technical defect, or the Customer cannot obtain the paid access purchased, and the problem prevents use of material functionality described in the applicable Documentation;
• the Customer reports the issue to hello@justcat.it without undue delay and, for a voluntary refund, no later than 14 days after the relevant charge;
• the Customer provides reasonably requested information and cooperation, including diagnostic details, and allows DT a reasonable opportunity to reproduce and remedy the issue; and
• DT cannot restore access or remedy the material defect within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to the Customer.
A voluntary refund is not available where the problem is caused by the Customer’s device, network, data, configuration, credentials, misuse, breach of the Licence Terms, unsupported environment, failure to meet documented requirements, a third-party cloud, identity or AI provider, or a function or usage mode not included in the purchased plan. Change of mind, accidental purchase, non-use, insufficient use, selection of the wrong plan, failure to cancel before renewal, dissatisfaction with CAT, or the absence of a feature not described in the Documentation are not grounds for a refund.
Any voluntary refund may be full or proportionate to the affected period or functionality, as determined by Paddle after considering DT’s assessment, unless mandatory law requires a different remedy. An approved refund may terminate access to the relevant paid plan.
3. Mandatory consumer rights
Nothing in this Policy excludes or limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived. A consumer may have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days where applicable, unless and only to the extent that the right has been validly lost after immediate supply in compliance with mandatory law. A consumer also retains mandatory rights where digital content or a digital service is not in conformity with the contract, including the right to have a defect remedied and, where the statutory conditions are met, to a price reduction or termination and refund. Mandatory protections of the consumer’s country of habitual residence prevail over this Policy.
4. How to request a refund or cancel
For a technical issue, first contact DT at hello@justcat.it so that DT can attempt a remedy. All refund and statutory withdrawal requests for Paddle transactions must then be submitted to Paddle through the link in the transaction receipt, Paddle’s buyer portal or the support channel identified in the Paddle Buyer Terms. Paddle verifies eligibility and processes any approved refund. Billing errors, duplicate charges and tax-refund requests should be submitted directly to Paddle. A subscription may be cancelled at any time through Paddle; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period.
