CAT 1.9.0

More options to get CAT

So far we have been offering CAT only

  • as a free product with some limits (raised when you registered)

  • or as a paid offering.

We are introducing a “middle tier” - it will be cheap and easy to buy.

We are introducing “CAT plans”:

Personal plan
Any person can use CAT for free in Personal plan. There are a few restrictions, interactive usage requirement is the main one.
Business plan
This is a new, cheap and easy to get offering. It allows you to use one autonomously running process (such as CI/CD) at a time. Again, with some limitations.
Enterprise plan
This plan has no limitation except the fact you need one license for each autonomous CAT process. Example: do you need to run two CAT processes in pipelines at the same time? You need to licenses.

See plans comparison table. The same page also explains all the terms used in the text above.

Other changes are also coming - you’ll be able to buy CAT from our web, choose monthly payments, you’ll have an option to generate a trial license key for Enterprise plan for two months. Stay tuned, all is coming pretty soon.

What do I need to do?

Do you already use CAT? Nothing much changes to you.

If you bought a CAT license, you are now using Enterprise plan.

If you don’t have a CAT license, you can continue using CAT in Personal plan.

No action is needed on your side.

Did something change in CAT?

This release is mainly a preparation for the upcoming changes. CAT is now able to tell a plan from a license key. All existing license keys are interpreted as Enterprise plan keys.

You may notice small changes when using Get-CatInstance (or catcli instance --show), such as Plan field:

Get-CatInsance output

That’s it :-). Happy testing.
